THE RIGHT EXAMPLE

“So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”
Matthew 14:29 NKJV

Yesterday, we established that as believers, we have power. Today, we will see how following the right example helps us to walk in it. Let’s see how.

In the natural realm, we learn by studying, but in the Spirit, sight is enough. When we see someone doing what we were born to do, it ignites and stirs up a new hunger in us for the things of God.

Most times, what we need is the right example. When Peter saw Jesus walk on water in Matthew 14:25-29, he had the burning desire to do the same, and he did walk on water.

We have other examples in the Bible like Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Joshua, Paul and Timothy. Through the relationship between these people, see how having an example to look up can inspire faith to walk in God’s power.

Listen, God wants to spark something in your life, and you must have a ready heart to receive His training. Like the writer of Hebrews said, God has raised many people that we can look to as examples.

“Since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, and let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 NLT

Knowing this, with boldness, step into God’s instructions for your life. What you have is enough. You’ve got power and good examples to follow. Walk in the knowledge of who you are!

DO THIS: Meditate on the power of God that is at work in you. Surround yourself with examples of people who walk unashamedly in it. Finally, seek opportunities to show forth this power.

Bible Reading Plan:
Mark 14:12-31, 2 Corinthians 13, Psalms 109, 2 Samuel 5-7
