WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL RECAP

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:19-20 NKJV

Welcome to the 30th weekly devotional recap of the year. This week, we learned about serving God’s people and the local church, and that we are called to be present and serve with all our heart and strength, as people enlisted in God’s army.

On Monday, we explored the theme of being enlisted in God’s service. Being a believer means being called to serve in God’s kingdom. Just as soldiers are enlisted for duty, believers are called to serve God and His people diligently (2 Timothy 2:3 NKJV). This calling requires dedication and a willingness to follow Christ wholeheartedly.

Tuesday’s article highlighted the importance of serving God’s people with your talent. Each person has unique gifts and talents bestowed by God, which can be used to build up the church and serve others. Whether it’s teaching, singing, or administrative skills, using our talents to benefit others fulfils God’s purpose and brings joy to our hearts (1 Peter 4:10 NKJV).

On Wednesday, we focused on serving God’s people with all our strength. This involves giving your best effort in every task, whether big or small and doing it as unto the Lord. It requires a heart of dedication and resilience, always seeking to honour God through diligent and enthusiastic service. Serving with all our strength reflects our reverence and love for God (Colossians 3:23 NKJV).

Thursday’s devotion was about serving God’s people through financial giving. Financial resources are another way we can support the church and those in need. Giving cheerfully and generously to the work of the ministry and those less fortunate is a tangible expression of our love and obedience to God’s commandments (Luke 6:38 NKJV).

On Friday, we learned about the importance of being present in the ministry work. Being physically present and actively participating in church activities and ministry work is crucial for the growth and unity of the church (Hebrews 10:25 NKJV). Your presence and involvement are vital to the body of Christ.

Dear believer, you are called to serve God’s people and the local church with your time, talent, strength, finances, and presence.

Let your service reflect your love for God and a testament to His grace working through you.

  • A MEMORIAL

Memorials are powerful tributes, celebrating the lives and legacies of those who have made a lasting impact. Similarly, our acts of giving can stand as memorials before God, capturing His attention and expressing our deepest devotion and gratitude.

  • LOVE THE UNLOVABLE

Picture yourself walking down the street and encountering someone injured. You rush over to assist, only to discover a friend who publicly ruined your reputation, hurt you badly and broke your heart. In that moment, you’re faced with a challenging decision: do you turn away or extend a helping hand?
