“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5: 20 NKJV
The media is one major tool that spreads not only information but also ideologies and propaganda. Over the years, there has been an increasing rate of illicit content or ideologies that pervert the original state of humanity as designed by God. While believers complain and nag about this, the devil has worked with the propagators of these evil ideologies and has become bolder to even attempt to shape the culture for generations to come.
Clean Television means no sexual situations, nudity, or swear words and no graphical representation of violence. Godly TV takes it further and injects the Gospel into “clean television”. Combining all the criteria, we find that the percentage of godly content is slim compared to the high number of R and X-rated films.
Our anchor scripture reminds us that we are ambassadors for Christ on earth. Therefore, we must dominate because television is no longer just a telecommunication medium for transmitting moving images and sound. Now, it is a medium for the transmission of ideas and propaganda. So, stop complaining about the amount of homosexual content Netflix produces and start thinking of how to influence cultures or support those who promote clean and godly content through television.
We ought to buy the field and dominate here on earth (Matthew 13: 44). One way to do this is by creating excellent godly TV and Film content that will compete with and crumble what the enemy has been building. Think about the souls that would be won for Christ when we are responsible for creating and curating the movies and shows people watch.
Therefore, we need to partner with God. We have been saved to save others, and since God is in the business of souls, He can give you ideas that will advance the cause of the gospel. Partnering with God means trusting Him totally (Proverbs 3: 5-6). Surely the God who created the universe can give us ideas through His spirit. And these ideas will rival the world’s. Let God take control.
Secondly, blend in but do not compromise. Remember, we are in the world, yet not of it (John 17:16). However, to achieve the same heights or more, we need to become one of them. Get certifications from a film school if you have to, but never forget that you have an agenda – to propagate The Gospel.
Thirdly, put your money where your faith is. Find contents that are godly and sponsor the cause. Reaching the minds and souls of men will require funds. You should therefore support godly content makers because more people will be reached through them by your generosity. Never forget that all that we have comes from God, and we should be ready to give to propagate His message.
In conclusion, we are in a competition, and the prize is the souls of men. Be willing and open to God’s move in the earth today, and let the Lord make a name for Himself with your life.
