“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation”.
2 Corinthians 5:18 NKJV
It is a fact that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” as the Bible says in Romans 3:23. Because of our sinful nature from birth, we owed a debt that we could never pay but out of His deep love for us, Jesus came on the scene and paid our heavy debt by dying on the cross. He died our death and now we live for Him (Romans 5: 8, Ephesians 2: 4-5).
Now, this begs the question of what Jesus would have us do with the life He has given us? It’s simple, we are to tell the world the good news of what He’s done so they can come to the knowledge of Him! (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).
God’s will for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of Him is not something automatic, we must play our part by preaching the gospel. This must be our highest ambition, hence, nothing should be more important than this.
As believers, our purpose on earth is specific — to know Christ and to make Him known. If we genuinely believe that Jesus died to give us eternal life and that He is the only way to the Father, we will tell others (John 3:16).
Christ has done His part, we need to do ours. True understanding of the gospel comes with a great sense of responsibility and urgency!
We should regularly ask ourselves questions such as — “what would be my contribution to the spread of the gospel in my day?” and “If heaven truly rejoices over one saved soul, how much rejoicing have I caused in heaven so far?” (Luke 15: 7). Think on this and take action.

Luke 3:1-20, Ephesians 4:25-32, Psalm 119:65-72, 1 Kings 13-14
