YOU HAVE THE POWER

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17‭-‬18 NKJV

Every believer has a charismatic ministry, and it is important for each of us to be aware of this truth. The moment we received the Holy Ghost, we were changed from being ordinary people to people of power. Our anchor text talks about the abilities and benefits that we received when we believed in the gospel—casting out devils, speaking in tongues, divine preservation, and healing the sick. The good news is that all of us, not a select few, have these abilities. In fact, we can do even more by the Spirit:

“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”1 Corinthians 12:8‭-‬11 KJV

Dear believer, saying that God is in you has a charismatic implication, which is that if God truly is in you (which is unarguably true), then there must be signs to show for it. People must be beneficiaries of the divine presence that you carry. Let’s look at how Paul described the power we carry within:

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 1:19‭-‬20, KJV)

Paul calls it mighty power! Before you continue, read the text again. The same mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead lives within you! (Romans 8:11). Look, you can’t be shy or timid. You’ve got to use what you’ve got! The potential power in you won’t become kinetic unless you use it. The more you operate in your charismatic ministry, the bolder and the better you become at it.

Take the first step today; pray for that sick person you know, give a word of knowledge or wisdom to someone, preach the gospel, cast a devil out. Don’t hold back! This is the only way you can build your charismatic ministry. Remember, God is in you; and with Him, impossible is nothing.

SAY THIS: The same power that conquered the grave lives within me. The power I carry is mighty, and I put it to work.
