TRAMPLE!

“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents   and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:17-19 (NKJV)

Football lovers are usually accustomed to certain words such as Giants and Minnows. A football giant refers to a club/country with an outstanding pedigree exemplified by the number of trophies in their cabinet. On the other hand, a football minnow is a club/country with no pedigree or record achievement and never expected to win in a game.

On any match day between a giant and a minnow, you will find pre-match analysis, predictions or permutations usually going in favour of the giant. Although there are exceptional flashes of brilliance by a minnow like getting a draw or even a rare win, the default position of a minnow continues to be at the bottom.

The devil is a minnow or anything less than that. Jesus confirmed it in our anchor text. He described the default state of the devil – fallen. Yes, the devil is fallen and defeated. A consciousness and active awareness of this position by a believer will help in exercising spiritual authority.

As a believer, you approach the devil from a position of victory and you trample on him. The devil flees at your appearance. Let this sink in! This was the point Jesus emphasised to His disciples who were excited about their exploits with demons. This point is that the devil is in a fallen not falling state. Understanding the difference between ‘fallen’ and ‘falling’ helps to shape our mindset.

One describes a completed act while the other is an active continuous act. So go ahead and trample on the devil. Christ has secured the victory even before you stepped in. He first conquered all before He sent you which means you have victory in your divine assignment; nothing can stop you. Unlike the days of Daniel, there is no prince of Persia to stop your prayers. Those days are gone. Glory to God!

Look around you. Are there any sick ones or afflicted family members? Declare over them right now and command that sickness to go. Are there demoniacal forces contending against your family? It is time to put an end to it. You are a giant and such activities of the devil are under your feet (Romans 16:20).

Listen, avoid being only a hearer of the word and begin to embrace doing the word. Knowledge and awareness are key, make no mistake about it. However, the victory is cemented in taking action. As you know you have the authority to trample on the machinations of darkness. Go ahead and trample! Do it now!

SAY THIS: Today and the rest of my life, I am a giant. The devil is under my feet. I take charge of my life and my loved ones. At my appearance, demons flee the door. Satan has fallen. My victory is perpetually secured. Glory to God!
