THE GOSPEL IS FOR ALL

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLT

Our anchor scripture can be said to be one of the most popular verses in the bible, or perhaps, the most recited verse in the bible. From the text, we see that the only way to have eternal life is to believe in Jesus’ finished work.

However, it is not uncommon to find people asking questions like, can everyone have eternal life in Christ? Is the gospel for everyone? What really is the gospel?

The gospel simply means good news – that Jesus died for us all; was buried and resurrected on the third day in glorious victory. What makes this good news awesome is that what He did, He did for everyone. When He died, He took your place, atoning for your sins; He was buried in your place and when He resurrected, you resurrected also (1 John 4:9-10). Glory to God.

“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”  1 Timothy 2:3 – 4 (NLT)

It is not enough to know the gospel, we are to believe in the finished works of Christ and preach it to the world (Romans 10:9-13). We are to preach about His great sacrifice for our sake. Now by grace through faith, we have received salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). The whole world should know and hear this good news (Mark 16:15). Brethren, what have you done to propagate the gospel? The gospel is good news, tell the world about Jesus today.

Just like Paul in 1 Timothy 2:4, you should desire to see all men saved, but how will men be saved if we don’t preach to them? The gospel is for everyone; both the rich and poor; the broken and unbroken. Christ gave His life as a ransom for us all, not for a selected few, not for the rich, but for everyone.

This is how God loved the world, He gave His son to be a sacrificial lamb, once and for all, for our sins. There’s no discrimination in salvation, no prejudice or favouritism, anyone that believes will be saved.

God desires the salvation of everyone. He has made it possible through Jesus and right now, anyone who runs to Him will be saved. (Romans 10: 13-15)

The gospel is for everyone, so preach and tell the whole world about it!
