“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 NKJV
As we grow older, it is so easy to worry about the future. From our education and career choices to decisions about dating, marriage, and ministry, we make crucial choices that will affect the rest of our lives. When we are unsure, it is easy for fear to paralyze us. Sometimes, we even choose not to decide because we think we are going to mess things up.
So how should we face uncertainties in our lives? With boldness rooted in Christ! When you face uncertainties, it is easy to fear and the thoughts of ‘how? when? where? what?’ could creep into your mind. Another emotion that you may feel is anxiety, that constant nagging feeling that situations can go wrong any minute.
In times like these, we must make a decision to lean on God. Just like Paul told the church of Philippi in Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing….” Do not fret. The Lord is with you, and He has not given you the Spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Talk to God about your worries, trust Him and let Him lead you.
It is noteworthy that Jesus warned us that we would have tribulations in this world, but isn’t it amazing that He also encouraged us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world for us? If that doesn’t put a smile on your face, what can? Listen, with Christ you have hope. With Him, you can stand tall in adversity. He will take care of you.
In a world of uncertainties, be encouraged and reminded that you have what it takes to live a life with boldness. God wants to direct and empower you. Let Him lead you today.
