Day 9 (Genesis 23-24, Matthew 8:5-8:27)

Life is full of decisions. Every day, we make countless decisions that shape the outcome of our lives. Today’s readings show that God is willing and ready to guide us in all aspects of our lives.

If Abraham’s servant, who didn’t know God for himself, called upon Him to help make the critical decision regarding Isaac’s wife and God answered, how much more can you, who has the Spirit of God within you, expect divine leading? Divine leading is your inheritance as a child of God.

Contrary to some beliefs, being led by God does not exempt you from challenges on your journey of faith. In our New Testament reading, the disciples had Jesus with them in their boat but still encountered a storm. Jesus prepared us for this,

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT

Dear believer, leading seeks you. Commit your ways to the Lord, and He will direct your path. Rest easy, with Jesus guiding and living in you, divine guidance is a constant in your life and no storm will be your end.

Reflection: How do you seek God’s guidance when making your own choices?
