“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NKJV
This life of Christ, we have been called into, is a consecrated life. It is no longer us who lives but Christ that lives in us.
There’s a way to live this life and today, we will share how to do so.
First, have a prayer life. Prayer is a proof of our desire for God’s presence. Even for earthly relationships, we set aside time for relational purposes. How much more time to spend with God, the very one we live for? Prayer, in this light, becomes a proof that we are consecrated to God. (Mark 1:35)
Secondly, we should devote our time to Bible study. We can set aside time everyday, have seasons of long study, and so on. Daily study of the Bible, in particular, helps our spiritual growth. (2 Timothy 3:14)
Thirdly, be accountable to someone and this person could be your friend or mentor. Accountability gives room for us to be kept in check.
Lastly, belong to a sound local church where the word of God is rightly divided. A local assembly that is devoted to the word helps us grow in the knowledge of God. With the proper spiritual authorities over us, we are assured of spiritual growth. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
Armed with this knowledge, take practical steps today to live a consecrated life. Ours is a perverse generation, and we ought to distinguish ourselves. The only way we can do that is to live consecrated lives.
