BELIEVE FOR A MIRACLE

“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed and miracles that cannot be counted.”  Job 5:9 NIV

Many believers do not find it difficult to believe the miracles recorded in the scriptures, however, they do not expect such miracles to occur in their lives. They do not necessarily doubt that God does miracles but it’s sometimes difficult to imagine that a miracle can happen to them. This is however not the truth as God wants you to ask for a miracle and expect to get an answer.

From the above scripture, we see that it is in God’s character to perform miracles beyond human comprehension. This is why the promise of God to Abraham was unique. In Romans 4:19, we see that Abraham didn’t weaken in his faith even though his body was as good as dead. It was medically impossible for him to bear a child worse still, his wife Sarah had already passed the childbearing age. In all this, he held firmly on the promise of God to him whether it looked possible or not.

We also see in the account of the centurion in Luke 7:1-10, that when he approached Jesus for the healing of his servant he knew and believed with all his heart that the intervention of Jesus was the end to his problem. His faith was so strong that he told Jesus not to bother coming, rather He should just send His word. This singular act made  Jesus commend him for his great faith and He sent His word and the servant was healed.

When believing God for a miracle, one of the important tools to engage is the word of God. Study the Bible and search for the promises of God regarding your situation and hold firmly to it. For instance, if you are trusting God for healing, look for scriptures that speak about it and meditate on it. Trust God and hold God by his word.

You also need to learn the act of waiting on God and resting in Him fully. The Bible says to cast all your cares on him for He cares for you. In Philippians 4:6-7 the Bible also says you should not be anxious about anything but to pray and make your requests known to God. In return, he will flood your heart with peace. While waiting on God never lose your peace.

Most importantly keep praying and thanking God for the miracle he will do, this is because God always keeps to His promise. If He said He would do it, receive His promise as evidence of the miracle you are expecting. Today, get a scripture relating to the miracle you are expecting, meditate on it, and thank God knowing that His Word is all you need.
