DON’T LOSE HEART

“To them, God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” – Colossians 1:27 NKJV

Have you ever desired something so much and it seemed as though it wasn’t forthcoming? Often it feels like all hope is lost but it is important to note that hope, when put in Christ cannot be ashamed.

At the beginning of the year, we all had goals however big or small that we hoped to achieve by a certain time of the year, and the fact that some of these desires have not materialised can lead one to a place of disappointment and weariness.

The Bible makes us see in our anchor scripture that our trust in God is not merely a waste of our time. Rather, it gives us assurance of our desires coming to fruition.

Christ demonstrated His immense love and benevolence to us in salvation (Romans 8:32), even when we were not deserving of it He bestowed upon us the greatest gift of all. This should strengthen our confidence in God’s love for us that He would not withhold any good thing from His children.

The Bible makes us understand that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28), not only the good but the seemingly unpleasant ones as well. We also see in (James 1:3-4) that the testing of our faith works patience in us and brings us to a perfect man, complete and lacking nothing.

We can also consider the story of the unjust judge in Luke 18, which teaches us the importance of perseverance, persistence, and patience in the place of prayer. Our faith is built up and strengthened as a result of this.

So, dear child of God, God is still true to His word and every one of His promises to you. A true test of our faith is in our patience and trust in His timing. Here’s your reminder that God can truly be trusted.

Keep up the faith. Keep praying. Keep praising and keep worry and doubt out of the way.

Say this prayer: Lord help me to be confident in your love and trust your timing for me in Jesus’ name.
