WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL RECAP

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”  2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

Welcome to the 31st week of our devotional recap. This week, we learnt about  purpose, the need to preserve the message of the Bible, pray long, evangelize and get people filled with the Spirit as we do so.

We started out the week with looking at the importance of growing in the Word to keep its integrity and rightly fight against wrong doctrine. By contending for the faith, we show our honour for God and His Word (Jude 1:3)

The next day, we were reminded that as believers, we no longer belong to ourselves but to God. When we receive the life of Christ, we are to become God-centred and ambitious for a selfless cause – the propagation of the Gospel (2 Corinthians 2:14-21)

On Wednesday, the need to be persistent and tenacious in prayer was reiterated. To grow spiritually, we must give ourselves to continuous prayer. In doing this, we grow in intimacy with God, are edified and remain discerning of His will for our lives (Jude 1:20, Acts 13:1-4)

Thursday’s study reminded us of our mandate to get men filled with the Spirit. This is necessary because without the Holy Spirit, no one can fulfil their God-given assignments. As we get people saved, we should properly teach them that they now have the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13, Acts 10:44) and have an expectation that when we pray for them to be filled, it will happen.

On Friday, we rounded up the week with a charge to preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. We are saved to be instrumental in the salvation of others (Matthew 28:18-20)

Dear believer, you are not ordinary. God has called you to be His ambassador. Yield to Him, pray and step out in faith. The Spirit in you is not dormant, but has the ability to flow to others through you. Make it count!
