“So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.” Matthew 14:29 NKJV
As believers, it is established that we have power. Today, we’ll look at how following the right example can help us walk in that power. We learn in the natural world by studying or actively being taught, but in the Spirit, seeing someone else do it works just fine. When we see another person doing what we were born to do, it ignites and stirs up in us a new hunger for God’s things.
Most times, all we need is the right example. When Peter saw Jesus walk on water in Matthew 14:25-29, he had the burning desire to do the same, and he did! We have other examples in the Bible like Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Joshua, and Paul and Timothy. Through the relationships between these people, we see how having an example to look up to can inspire faith to walk in God’s power.
Listen, God wants to ignite something in your life, and you must have an open heart to receive His instruction. God has raised many people who can serve as examples, as the writer of Hebrews stated.
“Since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, and let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 NLT
You have been charged with taking your place in various aspects of socio-economic life for some time now. Knowing the work before you, with boldness, step into God’s instructions for your life. What you have is enough. You’ve got power and good examples to follow. Walk in the knowledge of who you are!
DO THIS: Meditate on the power of God that is at work in you. Surround yourself with examples of people who walk unashamedly in it. Finally, seek opportunities to show forth this power.
