SOLD OUT TO THE GOSPEL

“He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 NLT

To be an expert in a profession, one has to go through learning, experience, and a series of exams, including professional exams to be called a professional.

To be a lawyer, you need to pass the bar exam, to be fully an accountant, one has to get chartered. It takes a lot of diligence, intentionality and experience to be called a professional. If we then can give so much dedication and commitment to worldly things, how much are we willing for the Gospel?

Your dedication to the Gospel is evident in how sold out you are to the Gospel. To be sold out is to give everything. How willing are you to give everything? Are you willing to sacrifice all for the Gospel? We see in Matthew 4:19, Jesus told Peter and Andrew to leave all they had to follow Him. Brethren, is there a limit to your commitment in following Jesus? How far are you willing to go?

Being sold out is to be Christ-like. In Christ is not just a message to believe, but an example to emulate. Your devotion to God and value for the Gospel should be evident in your daily life. This will be seen in your service to God, your commitment in your local church, your willingness to put your money where your faith is and in your Christian conduct.

John 3:16 makes us know that the only way to eternal life is in believing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ by grace through faith. As believers, we have been commanded to preach this Gospel to the world (Mark 16:15). Therefore, to be sold out to the Gospel is to have a burning desire to preach the Gospel and to do so consistently. How committed are you to this cause? In your place of influence, at work, in school, how much of the Gospel have you shared?

Paul in Philippians 1:21 said to live is Christ. Dear believer, let the urgency and passion for the propagation of the Gospel be seen in your life. Christ deserves it and the Gospel must prevail, however, it can only prevail through us. Be sold out today. Give to the spread of the Gospel, preach it, and live it.
