Day 14 (Genesis 33-35, Matthew 11:7-30)

Every man will be held accountable for his words and deeds, no matter how inconsequential it may be. People tend to believe that because we are free from the wages of sin, we are free from the consequences of sin. Your actions have consequences, in other words, “every wrong action you take has consequences”.

In Genesis 34, we see the tragedy of sin and the consequences on all the men associated with Shechem. This points us to the result of wrong actions and the consequences that followed it.

Also in Matthew 11,  in the cities where Jesus did mighty miracles but they still did not repent, He pronounced judgment on these cities.  Faith in God’s word is an action that leads to us receiving the promises that God gave us, but doubt is an action that hinders us from receiving the blessings of God.

Therefore ensure you make the right decisions and take the right actions. Just as wrong actions have consequences, right actions have rewards.

Confession: Lord help me to always make the right decisions, direct me with your wisdom and enable me to take the right actions.

8 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
