“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.’’
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Welcome to our 50th devotional recap for the week. This week, we learnt about how to prayerfully prepare, trust God, and prophetically prepare ourselves for the fulfilment of His promises.
On Monday, we learnt how to be prayerfully prepared by seeing praying as a training ground for us as believers and imitating Jesus Christ who gave Himself to prayer (Mark 1:35). Prayer makes us fulfil prophecies and builds our capacity to execute the visions of God (Matthew 26:39). Preparing prayerfully enables us to continually produce good works as we attend camp meetings.
Tuesday’s study made us understand that God is still for us even as the year winds down. We have a heart of gratitude towards the year because during the toughest of times, God was there for us. Regardless of Paul’s trials and tribulations he knew God was for Him and with Him (2 Corinthians 11:22- 28). God’s will for us is to be the person He has created us to be.
Wednesday’s study was titled ‘Stand Tall’ and we were instructed here that we should face uncertainties with boldness and not fear. God has not given us a Spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) and we should always trust Him to lead us. We have been given the boldness and courage to face every season. In an uncertain world, we are encouraged to live a life of boldness.
On Thursday, our study centred on ‘The Hope of Glory.’ In this study, we were taught that the hope in Jesus is an anchor for our souls that leads to eternal life (Titus 1:2, 3:7). We have an everlasting life due to the Gospel and this should make us live intentional lives for God. There is hope for us as believers regardless of our present situation.
We concluded this week’s teaching on Friday by looking at how to be prophetically prepared. We examined how Isaac’s prophecy over Jacob’s life in Genesis 27:28-29 made him a great man and blessed his lineage. Prophecies and words spoken over us shouldn’t be taken for granted because they set us in the right direction. We should be mindful of prophecies by speaking words over our lives and praying about them.
Dear believer, trust God more over the affairs of your life and be aware that what he is set to do in your life will favour you. You are never disadvantaged!
Have a blissful weekend!
