“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:11 NKJV
Welcome to the 36th weekly devotional recap of the year. This week, we continued our series on the believer’s authority by learning about the armor of God.
We began the week with an encouragement to be strong in the Lord. The Christian life is a battlefield, so your strength must not rest in yourself but in God. This is not a one-time act but a daily choice made through prayer, the Word, worship, and fellowship (Isaiah 40:31; Hebrews 10:25). Human wisdom or ability cannot stand against spiritual battles, but God’s power never fails (Zechariah 4:6; John 15:5).
Tuesday’s article reminded us that our true battle is spiritual. Negative activities often have unseen demonic influences behind them, so you cannot overcome them by fighting in the physical (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). As a believer, you must know God has equipped you with supernatural weapons and authority (Zechariah 4:6; Luke 10:19). Always remember that you are not alone or defenceless. You have the Spirit, the Word, and the Name of Jesus to enforce His will and stop the works of the enemy.
On Wednesday, we learnt that our victory is already assured in Christ. Enter every battle with the confidence that you would emerge victorious. This does not mean you go unprepared; clothe yourself with the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:13-18) and stand firm with confidence. Fight from a place of victory and refuse to tremble before the enemy. If God is for you, no one can be against you (Romans 8:31, Exodus 14:13). Rise each day as Christ’s soldier, and when the enemy strikes, do not retreat.
Thursday’s devotional charged us to be alert (1 Peter 5:8). The enemy works through deception, not obvious attacks, which is why you must remain spiritually discerning. You don’t defeat him by human power but by standing firm in the victory Christ has already won (Colossians 2:15; 1 Peter 5:9). Keep your focus on God’s goodness, persist in prayer, and remain steadfast in faith. The devil is already defeated; your role is to resist him and live as the overcomer you are in Christ, because the Greater One lives in you.
We ended the week with a call to put on the whole armour of God. God has given you everything you need to stand against the enemy and win (Ephesians 6:12), but you must deliberately clothe yourself with them every day because these resources will not help you if left unused. Be intentional about walking in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word. The devil is not afraid of a careless Christian, but when you know your identity in Christ and stand fully armed, you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness.
Dear believer, the Lord has equipped you with all you need to overcome. Stay alert, stand firm, and put on the armour daily. Victory is already yours in Christ Jesus. You were built to win!Have a victorious weekend.
