WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL RECAP

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Luke 10:19 NKJV

Welcome to the 34th weekly devotional recap of the year. This week’s articles taught us to understand our authority in Christ and walk in the reality of the victory that has been won for us.

We began the week by learning that we have authority (Luke 10:19). Because you believe in the finished work of Christ, you are now a son of God and have been given the authority to overcome all the power of the enemy (Mark 16:17-18). This should instil confidence as you walk in your God-given purpose. See it, know it, and act like it (Ephesians 1:5, 1 Peter 2:9).

Tuesday’s devotional taught us that this authority is not for a select few, but for all who believe (Mark 16:17). The authority of Christ’s name is as powerful on your lips as it was on His, because it is not about who you are in yourself, but who you are in Him. If you do not know what you have, you will not use it, and what you do not use seems powerless, even if it is not.

On Wednesday, we were warned not to be ignorant of the enemy’s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). Satan’s only real weapon is deception. When you resist him in faith, his only option is to flee (James 4:7). Repeatedly in the scriptures, we see God thwart his plans (Genesis 50:20, 1 Corinthians 2:8). He is neither omnipotent, omniscient, nor omnipresent. He was disarmed and disgraced at the cross (Colossians 2:15), and now he can only influence those who lack the knowledge of truth. Irrespective of your experiences, know that the devil is already defeated! You have the victory in Christ already!

Thursday’s article emphasized that Satan is fallen (Luke 10:18). The devil is not God’s equal opposite. His defeat was not a close fight; it was decisive and humiliating, and now he is under judgment.

Victory in Christ is your reality, but it must also become your revelation. Refuse to live as a victim because in Christ you are already more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Stand on this truth, resist his lies, and let the Word of God keep him under your feet where he belongs.

On Friday, we were reminded that we are more than victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57). The person who has received Christ’s  authority needs to see themselves as God sees them. The Name of Jesus is power given to the believer who knows their identity. By this authority, you are victorious over all the attacks of the enemy. Know this.

Dear believer, Satan is defeated, and you have authority in Christ. Do not yield to fear or deception. From today live daily in the consciousness of your victory, enforce it with boldness, and walk as more than a conqueror.

Have a victorious weekend.
