WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL RECAP

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

Welcome to the 28th weekly devotional recap of the year. This week, we focused on understanding the Church as God’s master plan—a community designed to ensure we don’t walk alone. In this community, we learn the importance of active participation and mutual submission.

On Monday, we discovered that God’s plan is for us to belong to a church community that facilitates our spiritual growth, rather than living in isolation. This community offers support and encouragement in our faith journey (Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 10:24) and provides comfort during our most vulnerable times (Philippians 2:1).

Tuesday’s devotional reminded us to embrace our Church community. Through Jesus Christ, we are adopted into God’s family—His Church. Our lives in Christ were meant to be lived in fellowship, caring for and serving one another with love and joy. The church is a family to embrace (Acts 2:44-47). We are brothers and sisters in faith (1 Corinthians 12:27). We were urged to pray for our local church and help out as much as we can – financially, physically or otherwise. Service should be our priority.

On Wednesday, we explored the joy of bearing one another’s burdens within our Church family. Just as the apostles shared everything in common and sold their possessions to support one another (Acts 2:44-46), we too can help each other overcome temptations and struggles.

Thursday’s article taught us to demonstrate humility in service, submitting to one another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:20-21). Our service to each other reflects our honour for God and our love for His people. We are encouraged to selflessly consider the interests and needs of others (Philippians 2:3).

Finally, on Friday, we were urged not to be spectators in our community. Each of us has an active role in building up the community, contributing our gifts, resources, and time to help others thrive in faith and love. We are called to be a vital part of the body of Christ, and our participation matters (Ephesians 4:16).

Dear believer, you are not called to be alone in God’s family. According to our anchor scripture in Hebrews 10: 25, we musn’t neglect the gathering of believers.

Embrace the community of believers as your family, participate actively, and enjoy all the blessings God has for you through it.

Enjoy your weekend!
