TRUST GOD

“In every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP

Life can be a rollercoaster. It can be full of unexpected ups and downs, challenges and even uncertainties. However, the life of a believer is not that which is without hope or with fear. We have a God who sees us and cares. What then is our response to circumstances that seem frightened or unclear? Like our anchor says, “be thankful and continually give thanks to God”.

When you express gratitude or praise to God in adversity, you are not denying reality or creating unreal expectations; rather, you are demonstrating your trust in God in the middle of the storm and giving Him control over it.

When work gets overwhelming, when school becomes challenging, when families and friends offend you and you feel all alone, remember that God can be trusted. Cast your cares and lean on Him. Go a step further and rejoice in that situation.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

This the right response to difficulties – rejoice! Rejoice because you have peace in Christ. Rejoice because He assures you and comforts you with His word and by His Spirit in you.

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” ( Isaiah 41:10 NLT)

So, under the sun, in the rain, when it’s dark, when you feel confused and your eyes get teary, praise God, because you fully trust Him to guide you. God can be trusted and He hears you.

As you pray over that situation, believing in His word and declaring it in faith, brethren, rejoice! Praise God with all your heart because He is your shepherd and He won’t leave you stranded. Count it all joy in times of trials for you have overcome.

DO THIS: Give thanks over that situation and meditate on Psalm 91
