“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.” — Mark 16:17 (NKJV)
The Believer’s Authority in Christ is not reserved for a select few. It is the inheritance of all who believe. From the moment you received Jesus as Lord, you were brought into a position of victory and given the legal right to act in His name. This is not a privilege for pastors, prophets, or “super saints”; it is the birthright of every believer.
When Jesus said, “In My name they will cast out demons”, He was not suggesting. He was declaring the reality of every believer. The authority of His name is as powerful on your lips as it was on His, because it is not about who you are in yourself, but who you are in Him. The devil recognises this authority, but he thrives on ignorance. If you do not know what you have, you will not use it, and what you do not use seems powerless, even if it is not.
The early Church understood our authority in the name of Jesus. In Acts 3, Peter looked at the lame man and said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk.” He did not pray a long prayer or negotiate with the problem; he exercised authority. The result was instant. The name of Jesus still carries that same power today.
Believer, your authority is not based on how you feel. It is rooted in the finished work of Christ. Ephesians 1:21 tells us that Jesus is seated far above all principality and power, and Ephesians 2:6 says you are seated with Him. That means the devil is under your feet, always.
You must decide to walk in this truth everyday and every moment of your life. When the enemy tries to intimidate you with fear, sickness, lack, or oppression, respond with the Word—command that situation in the name of Jesus. Speak like someone who knows the outcome before the battle even begins. You are not begging for victory; you are enforcing it.
Dear child of God, signs follow those who believe, not those who doubt, not those who negotiate with fear, but those who believe. You have been given authority; refuse to live as though you are powerless. Stand tall, speak boldly, and keep the enemy where he belongs, defeated and under your feet.
