THE ULTIMATE DESTINATION

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. — 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)

Have you ever stopped to wonder, “What is the point of it all?”

We wake up, work, eat, plan, hustle, succeed, fail, laugh, cry, grow old, then what? Beneath the surface of daily life, this question lingers quietly in the hearts of many: Where is all this leading?

As Christians, we cannot afford to ignore this question, for ourselves or those around us. The world is full of people living on autopilot, chasing short-term gains while avoiding the ultimate reality: an eternal destination awaiting every soul.

Life on earth, no matter how fulfilling or challenging, is temporary. We see reminders of this all around us: people age, seasons shift, things fade. Nothing here lasts forever. The truth is, Earth is not our final home; it’s just the starting point of a much longer journey.

We must not live as if this world is all we live for. Everything we do here should be shaped by the awareness that this life is only a brief moment compared to eternity. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a bit of time and then vanishes away. (James 4:14 KJV)

Every person is on a journey toward eternity. But not all paths lead to the same end. The Bible makes it plain, there are only two eternal destinations. Heaven and Hell. Every soul will face judgment, and the outcome will depend on one’s relationship with God. Pretending this isn’t true doesn’t change the reality. Our choices now determine where we spend forever. ( Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 9:27 KJV)

But here’s the good news: God did not leave us without hope. Through Jesus Christ, He provided a way to escape eternal death and receive eternal life. We do not earn salvation; it is a gift offered to us through grace by faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross. (Romans 6:23 KJV).

As believers, we hold the answer the world is searching for. People may not always voice it, but deep down, they are wondering. What happens after I die? Is there more to life than this? We must be ready to share the reason for our hope, not with pride but with compassion and truth. (1 Peter 3:15 KJV)

Jesus didn’t just promise a better life now; He promised a prepared place for us in eternity. (John 14:2 KJV) Heaven is real. It’s not a dream; it’s our home. And it’s where we truly belong. That hope gives us peace in pain, courage in hardship, and joy in the journey. (Philippians 3:20 KJV).
