THE ONE TRUE WAY

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation]” – Acts 4:12 (AMP)

One of the things that offends proponents of other religions is the bold claim in Christianity that Jesus is the only way to God. People seem comfortable with Christians if we don’t insist that salvation is found in Christ alone. There is also the argument about why everybody cannot have their local saviours from their tribe or country. Some ask, can figures like Buddha serve as saviours in other cultures?

Salvation is not subject to cultural preferences, because God is sovereign. We are not in a position to set the terms of how He should be worshipped (Psalm 100:3).

If someone wrote the number ‘6’ on a surface, another person viewing it from the opposite side might call it a ‘9.’ Who would you say is correct? People often argue that they can be excused, as that is all they know. But what if this figure is a password to a lock? Truth is not subjective. Paul preaching at Athens saw an inscription “to an unknown God.” They were sincere, but their worship lacked genuine understanding of God (Acts 17:23).

Through the writings of the Old Testament, God told a story through men who existed in different generations (Hebrews 1:1-2). Jesus appeared at precisely the right time (Galatians 4:4-5). God did all this so that we will not second-guess who He has appointed as the Saviour of the world. His death, burial and resurrection were prophesied in Scripture! (1 Corinthians 15:1-3).

The chief of all evidence that God sent Jesus to save the world is that He raised him from the dead! (Acts 17:31). Every other person who claims to be some saviour died, and their graves have remained with us. God’s stamp on Jesus is His resurrection!

Dear Child of God, don’t be silent. If there was another way, Christ would not have needed to die. Be bold to declare that Jesus is the only way to God and the appointed judge!
