“Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” 2 Corinthians 2:14a (NKJV)
There’s something powerful about looking back after an intense season: a camp meeting, a retreat, a fast, and realising just how much God has done.
Sometimes the victories are loud and dramatic. Other times, they are quiet shifts within you: clarity restored, convictions strengthened, habits broken, desires purified, or joy rekindled. But every victory, big or small, is worth pausing to thank God for.
As believers, thanksgiving is not a courtesy; it is a spiritual posture. It is how we respond when we recognise that every advancement, every deliverance, every open door, every healed place, and every strengthened heart came from the Lord alone.
Scripture teaches us that thanksgiving is not an optional response. It is the proper response to the works of God. When the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, Moses didn’t move them forward immediately, he paused with the whole nation to sing (Exodus 15:1).
When Hannah received her long-awaited miracle, she prayed again, not in desperation, but in gratitude (1 Samuel 2:1-2). When Jesus healed ten lepers, only one returned to give thanks, and he received more than healing; he received wholeness (Luke 17:15-19). Thanksgiving completes the cycle of victory.
The truth is, many victories you received in this season didn’t happen on the surface. They occurred in the spirit. God was pruning, rebuilding, strengthening, exposing, restoring, and preparing you. Even when you didn’t feel anything, God was still at work. You cannot always measure victory by emotions; you measure it by His faithfulness.
After special seasons and meetings, the enemy’s strategy is often subtle: to make you forget. Forget the encounters. Forget the convictions. Forget the wins. Forget who God showed Himself to be. But thanksgiving keeps your memory awake. Gratitude protects your transformation. When you intentionally thank God, you seal the victories He has given.
So today, pause and acknowledge His hand:
Thank God for prayers answered and for prayers still unfolding. Thank God for the strength to participate, understand, fast, study, pray, and grow. Thank God for chains broken, mindset shifts, spiritual hunger stirred, and joy restored. Thank God for the victories you saw and the ones you didn’t even know you needed. Thank God because He always leads you in triumph, not sometimes, not occasionally, but always.
Dear believer, victory is not a moment; it is your inheritance in Christ (1 John 5:4). As you step into this new season, let gratitude be your posture. Celebrate the God who fought for you, worked in you, and continues to lead you.
