Then David inquired of the LORD once again. And the LORD answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”- 1 Samuel 23:4 NKJV.
There are times in life when you are surrounded by uncertainty and unsure of the next step to take. However, as a believer, you are assured that God will provide wisdom and guidance when you ask Him.
Consider David, he was a man who wore many hats: king, military commander, and prophet. Above all these, he had a culture of seeking clarity from God before making important decisions. When you live this way, you’ll always experience confidence and peace.
Today’s anchor text highlights a conversation between God and David as he prepared for battle against the Philistines. David made it a point of duty to consult God for counsel before any battle. Instead of relying on the strength of his army or his experience as an army commander, he trusted in God, and he never lost a battle.
You can also be correct 100 times out of 100 when you trust God for clarity. The key is to ask God.
Another critical point is how David sought clarity from God, not just once, but at every step of the way. He wanted to be sure he was in sync with God’s direction at all times. That can also be you. You don’t have to live life the hard way, learning from your mistakes. Like David in Psalm 23:4, you can go through dark and confusing seasons of life victoriously, knowing that you have a Father who is always with you and ready to guide you.
Lastly, a culture of seeking God for clarity cannot be built without an unwavering commitment to prayer. In Psalm 55:17, David revealed one of his many secrets: he was a man who had a consistent prayer life.
Similarly, our Lord Jesus lived a life of consistency, always knowing what to do because He had a consistent prayer life. As John 5:19-20 states, He imitated what He saw the Father do. Where else would He have peeked at God’s plan for Him, if not in prayer?
Say this: I am divinely led. I trust God for clarity always, and He orders my steps all the time.
