“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.” — Luke 16:10 (NKJV)
Every part of the human body is important. Often, people think the brain is far more important than the smallest toe on each foot. But consider the pain you feel when you jam that little toe against a stone. Even a tiny part of the body can cause intense pain. You also need all five toes to keep your balance. Your body works well because every organ, no matter its size, plays its part.
Apostle Paul likened the Body of Christ to the human body, showing that every member has a role and all are essential (1 Corinthians 12:14-22). The main message is: just as every part of the body matters, so do every person and every act of service in the church. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you.” Likewise, no assignment in the church is too small, because each act builds up the whole.
From pulpit to pew, preacher to usher, every part matters. God values faithfulness, not visibility.
Jesus emphasized the principle of stewardship in our anchor text. He reminds us that being faithful with little prepares us for greater responsibilities. This means that the small things the Lord prompts us to do, such as showing kindness, praying for others, and serving devotedly, carry eternal weight.
Faithfulness in little things also reveals the heart. David was faithful in tending sheep before he was trusted with a kingdom (1 Samuel 17:34–37). The boy who shared his lunch of five loaves and two fish played a role in one of Jesus’ greatest miracles (John 6:9–13). These “little” acts carried a great impact.
God notices the work that others may not see. What looks small to us can be important in God’s plan. Often, things we think are unimportant are actually the foundation of what God is doing. He loves to use humble and overlooked people to fulfill His purposes, so that all the credit goes to Him. While the world praises big achievements, God values sincerity, humility, and steady effort, even when no one else is watching.
Dear believer, step forward and play your part faithfully, whether in prayer, service, or support. Refuse to be a spectator; every role counts, and every faithful servant will be rewarded. Now is the time to take action!
