In every generation, there are fresh expressions of God’s will or surprising moves of His Spirit. Sometimes these align easily with culture, but oftentimes they challenge existing norms, requiring courageous people to stand firm in what God is doing. This is essential for preserving God’s plans on earth, ensuring they are recognized and nurtured.
In Numbers 26-27, we see God preparing the Israelites for their future through new laws and leadership. The daughters of Zelophehad boldly claim an inheritance, a right that had never been granted to women before. Their act of faith leads to a new precedent in Israel’s inheritance laws. We also see Moses preparing to pass leadership to Joshua, the new leader who will guide Israel into the Promised Land.
In Acts 11, Peter defends the inclusion of Gentiles into God’s family, marking a revolutionary shift that challenges Jewish tradition. He explains how God revealed this new direction through visions and the Holy Spirit, preparing the early church for the spread of the Gospel to all nations. The church in Antioch also models new ways of care by sending aid during a famine, showcasing the generosity of early Christian communities.
Whether through changing laws, transitions in leadership, or breaking down barriers, God’s purposes are preserved by those who recognise, embrace and align with His directions in their time. Are you one of such people?
SAY THIS: I declare that I am bold to always declare the will and counsel of God on the earth!
