Day 43, February 12th, 2025 (Leviticus 14, Matthew 27:57-28:20)

In today’s reading, we explore Matthew’s account of the resurrection, a significant event that serves as a foundation for the Christian faith. We have an assurance of eternal life because Jesus died and rose again (1 Corinthians 15). By defeating death, He gave us ultimate confidence that at the end of time, we too will be risen to life in Him (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

Jesus’ resurrection brings victory to all who believe in Him. Through Him, we have victory over sin, death, and every consequence of sin. In exchange, we receive new life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:4, Ephesians 2:1-10). We rejoice in the truth that sin and death no longer have a hold on us.

We conclude the book of Matthew with what is commonly referred to as the Great Commission. In this passage, Jesus instructed His disciples and, by extension, us to share the good news of His death, burial and resurrection with the whole world. Our mission is to lead others to salvation and disciple them. This call remains relevant today. As we rejoice in the victory we have in Christ, we must also share this good news with those who are yet to believe.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation. Because You rose, I am no longer dead in sin. Thank you for this new life.
