Day 41, February 10th, 2025 (Leviticus 10-12, Matthew 27:1-26 )

Have you ever felt guilty about something you did, wishing you could turn back time and make different choices?

In our New Testament reading, we delve deeper into Jesus’ trial. We see Judas expressing remorse about betraying Jesus, genuinely seeking a way to change things, and in his guilt, he ultimately took his own life. Judas didn’t realize that God was using his mistake to bring about the greatest gift of all time. If he had only waited three days, he would have received forgiveness just as Peter did.

There’s a saying that goes, “Guilt is always hungry; don’t let it consume you”.  Sometimes, we wallow in guilt despite knowing that Jesus’ sacrifice is potent enough to cover all our sins, and this is as a result of our lack of trust in God. We haven’t truly believed that Jesus’s blood has washed away all our sins or that our God is Jireh, who works all things together for good. Even our mistakes can be used by God to bring about His purpose for our lives.

Listen, don’t let the devil rob you of your glorious destiny through guilt. Confess your sins, receive the forgiveness Jesus offers, and embrace the power of the Holy Spirit to do better. Then, move on and fulfil your purpose-the world is waiting for you.

Reflection: Jesus has forgiven you. Forgive yourself.
