In our Old Testament reading, we see the completion of the construction of the Tabernacle according to God’s detailed instructions. The priests and all the items in the Tabernacle were then set apart as holy and sacred. Following this, God’s glory filled the Tabernacle, signifying His approval and presence among His people. This event serves as a reminder that obedience and dedication in our service to God invites His glory into our lives.
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus speaks of His return in glory to judge the nations, separating the righteous from the unrighteous. The righteous, who have served Him through acts of kindness, will inherit the kingdom, while the unrighteous will face eternal separation. This contrast sets the stage for the sacrificial love demonstrated by the woman who anoints Jesus with expensive perfume in Matthew 26:6-13. Jesus commends her for her devotion, foreshadowing His own sacrificial death.
Both passages emphasize the importance of being faithful stewards in preparation for God’s return, living in ways that honor Him. Our lives should reflect His glory and the sacrificial love He demonstrated, guiding us to act with mercy and devotion.
Reflection: What sacrifices have you made to propagate God’s kingdom on the earth?
Exodus 39-40
Of the blue, purple, and scarlet thread they made garments of ministry, for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and of fine woven linen. And they beat the gold into thin sheets and cut it into threads, to work it in with the blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and the fine linen, into artistic designs
Matthew 25:1-30
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the ]holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
