Day 34, February 3rd, 2025 (Exodus 31-33,Matthew 23:27-24:14)

Jealousy is one attribute God ascribes to himself. God expects all His children to have a heart of commitment to him alone.

In Exodus 31-33, the Israelites sparked the jealousy of God by creating a golden calf and worshipping it. They ascribed the worship that is only due God to a golden calf, made a feast and committed all kinds of sins. This they did out of impatience forgetting that it is God who brought them out of captivity.

This serves as a reminder to us that God’s jealousy is about protecting his relationship with his people.

In Matthew 23:27-24:14, Jesus was stating the occurrences that signify the end of the age. Amidst the many terrible things he stated that is to happen, he encouraged them not to lose heart but endure to the end as these things are inevitable.

As Christians, when we see the things going on in our world today, our response should not be out of surprise like unbelievers, rather we should be filled with hope as the coming of our Lord is near.

Prayer: Lord help me to endure to the end.
