God’s call can often feel overwhelming. When Moses stood before the burning bush, he didn’t see himself as a great leader. He saw a man with faltering speech and was afraid of failure. Like Moses, we too may doubt our abilities when God calls us to serve. But God’s response to Moses’ hesitation is a reminder that when He calls, He also equips.
In Exodus 4, Moses tries to excuse himself from God’s mission, citing his lack of eloquence. Yet, God reassures him that He is the creator of all abilities and disabilities. The focus isn’t on what Moses could do, but on what God could do through him. This pattern repeats in our lives today. We often feel inadequate, forgetting that God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
In Matthew 16:13, Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” This question wasn’t just to confirm His identity but to test their faith in recognizing His divine nature. Peter’s confession and the events that follow, including the Transfiguration in Matthew 17:8, show us that a true understanding of God’s identity leads to a revelation of our purpose. When we see Jesus clearly, as the disciples did on the mountain, we gain confidence in His power working within us.
When God calls you, trust that He has already equipped you with everything you need to fulfill His purpose. Like Moses, you may feel unqualified, but remember, it’s not about your abilities; it’s about His.
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust in Your calling and believe that You have equipped me for every good work. Give me the courage to step out in faith, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.

Exodus 4-6
Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”
So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”
And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.
Matthew 16:13-17:8
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
