Day 17 (Genesis 41, Matthew 12:43-13:17)

As you go about your daily activities as believers, always keep in mind that God always remembers His own.

Genesis 41 shows us how Joseph went through tough times, from betrayal to false accusations, but at every stage, God’s favour and mercy never left him. Even in prison, God revealed secret things to him, giving him the ability to interpret dreams. This is in line with what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 29:29: “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and our children forever.” God reveals hidden wisdom and solutions to His children so they can be problem solvers and solution providers in the world.

Joseph’s story shows us that God positions His children to provide answers when the world needs them most. The interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream eventually brought him out of the prison to the palace. It’s a reminder that God’s revelations come with a purpose; they elevate and prepare us to be a blessing to others.

In Matthew 12, Jesus talks about the word of God taking root in our hearts. The way we receive His word determines the fruit we bear. It’s not just about hearing; it’s about receiving it deeply, letting it transform us, and producing lasting change. Just like Joseph held onto God’s word and promises even in dark times, we are called to let God’s word take root and guide our actions.

Both passages show that God reveals secrets to His children and positions them to shine, but it starts with receiving His word fully. When we do, we become the solutions the world is waiting for.

Prayer: Lord, enable me to always walk in your wisdom, guidance and revelation.

3 Then behold, seven other cows came up after them out of the river, ugly and gaunt, and stood by the other cows on the bank of the river.

Matthew 12:43-13:17

43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
