Have you ever quarrelled with a sibling and wondered if your relationship would survive? Yet somehow, it always does. In Christ, we are also family. When hurts happen, forgiveness and healing are not just beneficial; they are essential to preserving our unity as believers.
We all know what it means to mess up deeply. Some mistakes are loud and public; others are quiet and hidden. But sin, in any form, separates. It doesn’t just stain our reputation.
Imagine embarking on a long journey with a heavy backpack, only to realise it is filled with stones—some you gathered yourself and others placed there by those who caused you pain. Forgiveness is emptying this backpack by removing the stones one by one. With each stone discarded, the burden eases, your steps grow lighter, and the journey becomes more joyful and liberating.
As believers, we are called to a higher standard. Christ is our example, and He embodies love and forgiveness. The Bible repeatedly commands us to put away anger and bitterness, warning us of the consequences of holding onto them
