BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” – Joshua 1:5 (NKJV)

Have you ever been so crippled by fear of a new phase, new responsibility or new job? If your answer is yes, rest assured that you are not alone. Fear and discouragement are common experiences that even the powerful men of God we look up to face. But you must always remember God’s promise to Joshua: “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

The execution of the plans and promises of God in your life may not always be smooth; you may also encounter some opposition, just like the Israelites did many times. But God’s assurance to Joshua applies to us too.  Therefore, we mustn’t fret, recognising that the feelings of discouragement and crippling fear are tools the enemy uses to hinder us from fulfilling our purpose.

After Moses’ death, God chose Joshua to lead the Israelites. This was a monumental task, filled with significant challenges. Understanding the enormity of his mission, God repeatedly encouraged Joshua to be strong and courageous. God’s command to Joshua was clear: strength and courage were essential, but so was obedience to His law.

God’s presence and promises are our source of strength and courage. We must stay rooted in His Word and believe His promises to move forward. Jesus declared, “I have all authority in heaven and on earth, and I will be with you always” (Matthew 28:18-20). This truth gives us the boldness to face challenges and navigate life.

As we navigate new chapters in life, God leads the way. We must trust Him, even when the path seems uncertain or illogical. The Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land shows that God provides everything we need; we just need to trust and walk in faith (Exodus 16: 4).

Our attitude and focus should be on following the Lord wholeheartedly, trusting His control and faithfulness. Scripture promises that God works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Even in our mistakes, God’s unfailing faithfulness shines through. Throughout our journey, God proves Himself faithful, providing everything we need. So, don’t fret. Rather, be strong and courageous!

SAY THIS: I am strong and courageous because God is with me. I trust in God’s presence and promises.  I walk in faith, knowing He leads the way. I rely on His strength and stay rooted in His Word. I face challenges with boldness and confidence because His faithfulness supports me in every situation. Glory!
