“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night…” – Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)
Some people treat Bible study like a gym subscription. It feels helpful when motivation is high, but it gets ignored once life gets busy. But the Word of God was never meant to be seasonal. It should be something you feed on daily, not just when it’s convenient.
Why do we study the Word? We study the Word so we can truly know God. That is how you understand His heart, grow in faith, and stay aligned with His will. Without the Word, your faith begins to weaken, and it becomes harder to hear God clearly. Studying the Bible is not something you do only when you feel like it or when things go wrong. It is how you stay grounded and live out God’s purpose for your life (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
The truth is, life rarely slows down. There will always be stress, distractions, and responsibilities pulling for your attention. But God’s Word must have a permanent place in your daily routine. Like Joshua, you are called to study in and out of season. When it is convenient and when it is not. Consistency doesn’t come from perfect conditions. It comes from commitment. So how can you build a lifestyle where Bible study is consistent no matter the season?Start by having a clear plan. Are you following a Bible reading plan? Is there a particular book or topic God is highlighting to you in this season?
Don’t just open the Bible randomly. Let your study be intentional. If your days are packed, an audio Bible might be more practical. Choose a time that works for you and stick to it. Just like you wouldn’t skip an important meeting, honour your time with God’s Word.
As you plan, make use of helpful tools. Resources like the Triumph30 Bible Plan are designed to keep you rooted and consistent. Whether you prefer studying alone or with a group, build a system that helps you stay engaged.
Above all, build consistency with discipline. There will be days when you feel tired or distracted, but still show up. Every time you open the Word, even when it feels dry, you are planting seeds, and over time, those seeds produce strength, clarity, and a deeper walk with God.
Dear believer, Bible study is not a task to tick off, it is how you are transformed. Be a student of the Word. Show yourself approved and let the Word shape you every day.
