GREAT JOY TO THE NATIONS

“Then the angel said to them “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”” – Luke 2:10 (NKJV)

It is a few days after Christmas and still we ponder on this eternal message: Christmas is not merely a celebration of an event; it is a declaration of our redemption.

The birth of Christ is a reminder of God’s immense love for humanity and His plan to save us. Christmas is not merely a celebration of an event; it is a declaration of our redemption. Through Christ, we are no longer condemned; we are free (Romans 8:1-2). This is the birth of hope for humanity, a reminder of our restored relationship with God. Such a truth should cause great joy to rise within us.

The joy of Christmas goes beyond feelings; it is a reality we live in. God’s love was made manifest through Christ, the Light of the World, who came into the darkness to bring life and hope (John 8:12). This is the foundation of our hope and the source of the great joy we now share.

As the season of Christmas morphs into the new year, do not let this joy fade with the festivities. Instead, let it take deeper root in your heart – a daily reminder of the eternal gift of salvation and the life you now have in Christ (Romans 5:5).

This joy is not meant for us to keep to ourselves but is a call to action. We have been entrusted with this hope to share it with others. Dear believer, like the angels announced,  Christ’s birth is for all people, we are called to tell the world about His love and salvation (Matthew 28:19). We must help others see that they don’t have to live in hopelessness or fear. Through Christ, they can experience freedom and a new life.

Sharing this message isn’t only about what we say, it’s about helping people realise that they no longer have to face eternal death because the gift of eternal life is available to everyone through Jesus (Romans 6:23, John 3:18).

As you step into the days ahead, let the joy of Christmas guide your actions. Reflect on the immense love God has shown you and let that love overflow into the lives of those around you. Shine as a light in a world that desperately needs hope, pointing others to the great joy we have in Christ (Matthew 5:14-16).

Christmas is not the end of the story; it is the beginning of the mission. Let the truth of Christ’s birth fuel your faith and inspire you to share His hope with the nations.
