WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL RECAP

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness”

– 2 Peter 1:3 NIV

Welcome to the 45th week of our weekly devotional recap. This is where we remind ourselves of what we learned during the week. This week we talked about being filled with the Holy Spirit, destroying strongholds, being as wise as serpents, having all things, and being anxious for nothing.

We kicked off the week by discussing how the Holy Spirit is not a hard concept to grasp and how He is always within our reach. However, we have to put in the effort to pray and build ourselves up in the Holy Ghost. When we do this, we are edified and comforted, and our lives are forever changed for the better. We were admonished to spend time praying in the Spirit and singing psalms and hymns to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19-20).

Tuesday’s lesson enlightened us on how we are in the best position to destroy the stronghold that false teachings and false representations of Christ have on some people’s lives. To do this, we have to be committed to disseminating the truth of the gospel. In addition, we have to develop strategies and systems that allow us to do this effectively in today’s world.

On Wednesday, we picked up where we left off from our lesson on Tuesday and learned how we can be wise in spreading the gospel. We learned that while the message of the gospel will never change, we can be creative with our presentation of this truth. Every effort we put in to ensure someone gets the message and is saved forever is worth it.

On Thursday, in our lesson ‘All things are yours’, we learned about our inheritance in Christ Jesus and how we have everything in Him. In Him, we have sonship. We have become joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). This should fill you with joy! All that He has is yours, and you can do all that He can.

We concluded the week by discussing how it is possible to live free of anxiety and how that is our heritage as believers. Being anxious most of the time shows how forgetful we are about God’s faithfulness. If we have previously judged Him faithful, we should gladly cast our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7 NIV). While we wait on the Lord, we should pray and give thanks, trusting God completely.

God is faithful. He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. We can always trust him to show up for us.
