And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and…
Prayer
Welcome to the 38th weekly devotional recap of the year. This week, we talked about the why and how of prayer, and we were reminded of the fact that God always hears and answers when we pray.
Prayer is not an attempt to twist God’s hand or change His mind. It is communion with a prayer-answering Father. When this consciousness fills your heart, prayer becomes less of a duty and more of a joyful conversation with the One who loves you deeply.
For many people, prayer feels like a heavenly customer-care line. They call when something is broken or when they have a long list of requests. But that is not God’s design for prayer.
At times, it may feel like your words bounce off the ceiling unanswered, you wonder if God is listening.
Prayer is also the way we exercise our God-given authority. Jesus declared in Luke 10:19 that He has given us power over all the works of the enemy. Yet authority unspoken is like a sword never drawn.
