Day 68, March 9th, 2025 ( Deuteronomy 8-10, Acts 16:6-24)

In Deuteronomy 8-10, Moses reminds the Israelites to remember how God has led them through the wilderness and provided for them every step of the way. He warns them not to get too comfortable in the blessings of the promised land and to forget how much God has done for them. It’s a lesson in humility and dependence on God. “Don’t think your strength has brought you this far,” Moses says. It’s all God’s grace.

Furthermore,  in Acts 16:6-24, we see how the Holy Spirit led Paul and his companions. They yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit even if it meant a change to their plans. Through the Holy Spirit, they could discern and cast out the spirit of divination in the lady following them. Even though she was telling the people the truth about the Apostles, she was operating by an evil spirit.

It’s a reminder that God’s plans often look different from ours, but they are always better. Even when things seem to go wrong, it’s God’s way of guiding us to where we need to be.

Both passages teach us about trusting God’s guidance, even when the path isn’t clear. It’s not about relying on our strength or understanding; it’s about following His lead, knowing He’s always working out a bigger plan.

Confession: I trust God’s guidance, even when the path isn’t clear. I remember His faithfulness and rely on His strength, not my own.

Today’s reading

Deuteronomy 8-10

“Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers.

And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord

Acts 16:6-24

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.
