Day 46, February 15th, 2025 (Leviticus 20-21, Acts 2:22-47)

It is quite fascinating that the Bible; a collection of many books written by many authors across different times in history, culminates into the love story of God to man in the person of His son Jesus Christ.

In Acts 2: 22-47, apostle Peter in addressing the crowd explained that the words of King David many centuries ago was a prophecy of the resurrection of Jesus. He further explained to them that the same Jesus that was crucified before their very eyes has risen and all this was done to fulfill prophecy.

After hearing this, the people were convicted and then enquired what they could do. Apostle Peter then explained that all they needed to do to be saved was to believe in Him and repent.

On the other hand, in Leviticus 20-21, God gave laws to the Israelites and priests relating to holiness, justice, and consequences for certain sins. God explained that the importance of those laws was to distinguish Israel from surrounding nations who practised all sorts of evil.

It is therefore evident that God desires His own people to be set apart and different from the world.

Reflection question: Does your lifestyle set you apart from unbelievers?

Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;

whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
