In today’s Old Testament reading, we see Esau and Jacob vying for their father’s blessing. They placed such importance on their earthly father’s words that Jacob even deceived their father to receive the blessing. They understood that Isaac’s words would shape their lives. And it did.
How much more for you? If you have believed in the Gospel, you have the Creator of the universe as your Father, who never lies, and He has pronounced an everlasting blessing on you. Paul writing to the church in Ephesus, puts it this way:
‘All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. ‘ Ephesians 1:3 (NLT)
You have been pronounced blessed by God! Your sins are forgiven, you have the Holy Spirit, and a sure hope of eternal life (John 3:16, Romans 4:6-8, Ephesians 1:13). Glory!
Furthermore, if God has given you these blessings, He would surely take care of your material needs too (Matthew 6:25-34). Dear believer, rest in the blessings of God over you. He has spoken well of you, and His blessings are here to stay.
Confession: I am irrevocably blessed by God! My sins are forgiven. I have eternal life. I am highly favoured, supernaturally protected, and divinely led. That’s my life!
